1 Man, 1 Vision, 1 Mission.
Baruch is a small stepping stone for where I eventually want to end up in life. I need to graduate form here and start the MBA program at Stern Business School at NYU or Columbia University. The requirements to sit for the CPA exam are classes that I can include while going for my MBA in Finance. I will, God willing, have a job in one of the big four accounting firms by the time I graduate and take night classes in order to finish the MBA program. In about a year after graduating with my bachelors, I will be able to sit for the CPA exam. After I complete my MBA, I will be making a decent dollar coupling that with my CPA. God willing after that is completed, the goal is Columbia law school to further gain knowledge in the areas of business law, non-profit organizations, and contractual law. Eventually, I want to have the ability to run my own business without relying on any single person for expertise within in a certain aspect of my business other than myself. Not saying that I will never hire someone else, hopefully 1000's of employees before I die, but because I want to have a proper understanding of every area in which I will be dealing with. Other than owning my own accounting firm, multiple real-estate investments, and a mesh of all other types of businesses, is all for one reason. For running the largest non-profit organization with its original main contributor being its owner, ME. I want to travel the world in the second half of my life just getting high off helping others. Whatever it may be, providing drinking wells for village, helping with vaccinations in countries that can't afford it, building education centers in areas where people would never otherwise have the opportunity, and building self-sustaining communities for people to live for generations. Why? Because I want to and I know that I can. If you live to only please yourself, you have missed the whole point and beauty of life. Giving back is what it is all about, regardless if it is in a little or big way. There is a weight that I feel on my shoulders with something telling me in my heart, that I am going to be the one that is going to make a difference. A big one. Like I said in class when I quoted Albert Einstein, "It is usually the people that are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, that usually do." Allow me to introduce myself, I am Edmond Jaku and I am crazy enough to believe in myself, that I am going to change the lives of billions before I die, God willing. If not, at least I am going to die trying and save millions.

First off, I would just like to say how much of a kind person you are. for someone to have so many business related goals, a lot of the times it is because they are money hungry. But everything you said about wanting to make a difference in helping people and giving back is such an admirable trait you have. I wish you tons of luck in everything you do and accomplish and hope that once you graduate, you're visions will start happening right away.
ReplyDeleteEd, very deep blog. Your ambitions in life are very inspirational, and have gave me much thought to what extra I can do to help more people in my life. Your goals for the future seem tough, but you can handle it because you have a great grasp on knowing how much work that is going to take, and your willingness to accept it makes you a very determined individual. Good luck with all your goals, and I'll probably see you on TV one day.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading the whole passage you have, but one thing that i like the most has to be your last sentence. "Trying" is the key to everything as long as you try your best, even if you failed you wont feel defeated. Good luck bro.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that everyone in our class has very noble vision becasue they wnat to be successful and also want to help people or make some difference to make this world better place to live. I am so glad that there are stil so many good people who are tying to do their best not only for the well-being of themselves but also for others too. I too have a plan to be successful in my job and a plan to have enough financial means to help orphans. I wish everyone in ourclass with noble vision could be successful.
ReplyDeleteI'm also in the process of getting my CPA. I can understand why you would want to understand every part of your business - it's the same thought that inspired me to study mechanical engineering.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see your grand vision to contributing to the world! Keep it going!
I can't thank all of you for the optimism and positive attitude towards myself and my dream. God willing all of you will be able to attain your visions and dreams in the end. This has to be one of the best classes I have ever taken, not just for the fact of how much fun we have, but how much we have gotten to know a little bit about every one of us. It is good to get to delve into the minds of some of my classmates and see how and why they tick the way they do. The more I find out about everyone, the more I like. It was an honor to be a part of this class, from getting to interact with the Professor to the students, thank you.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a great blog! You have many good plans for the future. That was very inspiring! You seem like a very kind and giving person that wants to help as many people as possible. In class you also seem like a very nice person, and although we haven't personally talked before, hopefully we'll be able to do so at some point. I'd love to hear more interesting things you have to say.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you have many business-related goals and ambitions and a very clear vision of what you want to do after Baruch. That's great as well!
Good luck with everything!
Edmond i love your last vision, To help others. Mostly because you not only thought of yourself but you thought of others. How many of us a guilty of being selfish, only studying ourselves. You couldn't put it better when you said would good is life if we don't help others. In this capitalist world we live in where're indulged in benefitting ourselves sometimes of the cost of others. So it is very humanitarian of you to stop and think of others. The world need more people like you.
ReplyDeleteThat's right Edmond, i am my result and educational centers is my passion as well. I wish you best luck with all your studies and especially giving back part;-)
ReplyDeleteI want to just thank everyone again for their positive feedback and wish you all the best of luck in life. God willing may all of your positive visions and desires come alive in this life, take care.
